May she Rest in Peace!

Yesterday while at work, one of the residents in the nursing home died of old age. She had been showing some symptoms like not eating properly, not talking and laying on the sofa in her room as if half-dead, groaning a lot. it was my first time seeing a dead person after my paternal grandmother which was way back. At first when when they told me she died, I couldn't believe them. I felt her breath, she wasn't breathing, checked her eyes, shook her, no response AT ALL. I still wasn't convinced. I mean i helped her with her breakfast just that morning and someone else fed her lunch . Then all of a sudden, the nurse in charge calls me in hurry and tells me to go to Room NO.8 immediately. When i got there, the bad news hit me like a bomb. I was speechless and shocked for a while. It was sad cuz I used to feed her most of the times and she was such a lovely old woman. She used to say thank you all the time and kiss my hand or my cheeks sometimes. Aw she will be missed! She was  my fav after all. Anyways, after that the nurse in charge called the doc and her son. I busied myself with this other adaptation nurse because we had to clean the body and put on new clothes and all. At around 6 pm, the 2 undertakers came all dressed in  black with a stretcher, put the body in a white bag with the zipper and took her away. We closed all the residents' doors so that they wouldn't see the dead body being taken out. They might get depressed cuz thats how they would end too. Well that was my first time looking after a dead  body and all the time i was like 'Woah'. was a bit of a shock to me but the other nurses were calm and looked unaffected. And i thought 'are they human?' Prolly they are used to it.

ANyways, thats what happened yesterday and thought i should write in here about it so that i won't forget my first experience with the dead. LOL sounds dramatic!

Heavy snowfall!

Heya there

dunno why I seem to be into facebook nowadays so I hardly ever care to sign in here. anyways, we had a very heavy snowfall here last week, so terrible that it disrupted the bus routes, rail tracks etc. It was especially worse in South west London where the snow came up to 35 cm above the ground. People had to be rescued cuz their cars got stuck in the snow. The lil cars are more at disadvantages.

Along with the many unfortunate victims of snow, Tina happened to be one of them! She got stuck out in the cold snow while returning from work. I had a day off so I got lucky. According to her, the bus skidded to one side when it tried to move since the road was but a  mixture of ice and snow so she and this other young chinese girl (the only passengers) were asked to get another bus cuz that bus (belonging to Bromley) had to be returned to its own garage in Bromley. Tina had to wait ouside in the vigorous snowfall for more than an hour. She told me the snow nearly buried her. A lot of road workers (i think) came to help remove the snow so that the bus could operate. but as soon as they remove the snow, the snow would start to pile up again. On that night, tina came home 3 hours late at 12 midnite.......And believe me when I say it gets deadly cold before and during snowing. And I have to get up early in the freezing morning to earn my livelihood. lol The streets were alll covered with the mixture of snow and ice and its very slippery when you step on them. Fit to go skating! I had to be very careful when walking. I nearly slipped once or twice lol.......

Dad's work got cancelled cuz the trains and buses weren't running. You get double pay if you go to work on heavy snowfall. So many schools and colleges were shut down. Lucky Prashant didn't have to go to school for 2 days. The news said it was the worst snowfall in the last 18 years in the UK. so you can imagine how bad it was! We are in southeast London so it wasn't as terrible as it was in southwest!

Snow fall is fun but NOT when it disrupts travelling. Anyways, we tried to take a few shots in the snow like all the others here in the uk did.

Thats it. no more!

I finished tvb drama 'The Four' and i found it really interesting. My favourite character was Tit Sau (Iron Fist) played by Kenneth Ma while Kitkat found Raymond Lam kinda cute lol Its a good detective drama, funny at times.

I finished another chinese drama called 'Fairy of Chalice' which wasn't my type of dramas but then I didn't wanna leave it in the middle so I tried hard to finish watching all its eps........Tie mu was my fav there.

Currently watching: Blade of Immortal (Janime)........loving it so far! always up for samurai featured animes..........

Ta da!

Park Avenue Care Centre!

Hello dear diary,

Yes my profession as of now is a Health Care Assistant at Park Avenue Care Centre. It's a 52-room nursing and residential home for elderly people suffering from old age, DEMENTIA and the like. I am glad I got this job. It's very appropriate and helpful to me esp when I will be doing nursing in university. Talking about which, I am really confused as to which uni to choose...........whatever it is, it gotta be near to the place i live or I'll end up turning up  late for every lesson. Also, I have to give Harrow college  a visit this year to fill in the Ucas form for uni.

So I started working from 5th of Jan together with TIna. Last week was our first week. Tina works on the top floor (2nd floor) resided by more phycially abled residents. They don't have mental problems and most can do simple things while I work on the ground floor full of dementia patients most of whom are 99% dependent on us. they are not right in their head and easily forget things. There are a few Nepalese women working there so its nice. The staff there helped me a lot. Most of them are cheerful and helpful which is very good. The job is okay so far. The eldery residents (patients) can be soooooo funny at times. That's all. We work from 8am to 8 pm so we have to wake up really early around 5.30am. But I usually wake up at 6am. I just let the alarm clock ring for a while. This is what it looks like in the early  mornings. Isn't it beautiiiiful?!

Prashant's Birthday was on the 8th of January. It was also the day that Erin, Kitkat and Anjuna came to our home. The birthday boy was at school. We had been planning to invite the three of them home since long and the girls had even agreed to come. However, when the big day finally came, Me And Tina were so tired from work that we slept off. The girls had met in Waterloo tube station as planned and were desperately trying to reach us by phone. We were so deep in our sleep. We had been working 12 hours each day for 3 days with little sleep plus our  mobile was on silent mode so we couldn't hear the mobiles ringing. They finally called at our home no and it was then that we realised we had messed up 'BIG time'. Kitkat was obviously the angriest one since me and Tina acted as the worst hosts lol

But in our defence, we didn't completely forget about it. We DID go to the supermarket to buy things right after work the day before they were supposed to come. We called them but they did not pick up their phone. (ya okay)Maybe because it was late at night. We should have given them a call a lil earlier while returning home from work on bus. So since they didn't reply our calls, I (not tina) thought they wouldn't show up. But I was wrong and I am glad I was wrong because I really wanted them to come to our home, take a look around it and have fun.

Anyways, they arrrived at our place at around 2.30pm and left at around 7. TIna did all the preparation for food while I kept the guests entertained by ofcourse talking to them. lol. YOu see my role was that of an important one. so think twice before saying Tina did everything. It was a cold day but we had our heater on so the girls didn't freeze to death though Erin almost did. We ate in the living room then we moved to our room. The girls had a good time messing up our bed.

Gifts from Anjuna

Fantasy books. She made me read the summary right there and asked me if I liked the book. Ofcourse I liked both books because I love fantasy.

From all three girls

Lovely gifts. Thank them from the bottom of my heart. hehehe Erin says she picked the greeting card and we had a dispute over the origin of the little cute girl on the front of the card. I said she was chinese while Erin thut it was Japanese and the others thought Korean.

We looked around the  mall before sayiing the girls goodbye. A very fun day full of gossips and friendship bondings lol We didn't really do girly stuff but I did put the lip gloss that they gave me as a bday gift while going out hehe....and Kitkat helped me with the eye liner hehe. She is a darling! (when she is not angry)

Prashant's 16th Bday
Yes the same day, at night, we did a small birthday celebration for Prashant to which Prashant said he was not a kid anymore. He will always be (needles to say) in the eyes of parents. lol So this was how we celebrated his Sweet Sixteen. LOL

That's it.

I am off today but Tina is at work. I am sure she is sweating like hell in the nursing home cuz they turn the heater on full blast 24/7. We have to get ourselves a proper uniform as well. And its getting realy home. Mom's gone out and I figure she forgot to come home which almost always happens.

Back from a long xanga-beak on a New Years Day!

Yaya I admit I had been very very lazy to even bother about signing in here. But I am here now and thats what matters. First off,

A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS (THOUGH BELATED) AND A VERY MERRY & HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!!!!! MAY THE YEAR AHEAD BE FULL OF NON-LAZY and Non-Procrastinating DAYS AND MAY EVERY STEP YOU TAKE BE BLESSED WITH SUCCESS and PRAISE!

Wow I haven't been active on xanga for so long and yet when I am finally here, I don't miss it at all.

Anyways, We moved to a new place called Bexleyheath (Southeast London) on August 12 2008 and I have to say its a thousand times much better and cleaner than Wembley a k a  Little India of UK. I do miss the oriental food and the Indian shops there but the new place has its own charms and malls and most of all, it sooooooooo feels like I AM finally in the UK. I sooo love this place, love the fact that we don't have to live in a sharing. Sharing a house with another family is most troublesome with little privacy, misunderstandings, and whatnot. The new place comes with an absolute freedom to talk, fart, shout, argue or dance openly. The rooms are spacious and not crammed and I can actually take a breath here. The house has 2 floors. We have the whole upstairs to us while the downstairs, the ground floor, is rented by a young couple who are either very nice or deaf for they never seem to complain when we make a lot of noise. The floors in the UK are so thin that the people downstairs can practically hear creaking footsteps and people talking upstairs. Enough about the new place. Its 6.53pm New Years day and the couple downtairs are throwing a party with loud music on. Ya thats rite, its a payback time for them LOL

The weather's been brutally cold. We have to turn on the radiator or our blood freezes. Last night at midnight, we watched the the New Years fire crackers on Tv. We didn't go to the countdown but Prashant went with his friends in London Eye. It was so beautiful. They showed the Hong Kong one as well. It was then that I started missing HK again.

On the 24th of dec, we went to Anjuna's home to celebrate her 22nd Bday. IT was actually on dec 13 but we couldn't make it. On that day, we first met up with Anjuna and went to China town. China town is really famous for selling nite market stuff for high prices. lol Locals here have no idea about that of course. Only those who have been to HK know the stuff sold there are a huge rip off. There are several THai shops and to be brutally honest, Thai language is annoying lol. It really is! Just try listening to it and you'll know what I mean. Next, we met up with Kirtika at Acton Town tube station and went to ANjuna's home in Hayesa where we ate dumplings + rasbari (yummmmmmmmm) and then busied ourselves with girly stuff like plucking eyebrows, photo taking etc. It was a nice day, had fun, took pics, relaxed!  Though we only spent a few hours at her home. We had to leave her home earlier cuz we had to drop by Plumstead as well. It gets dark after 5pm and so we thought it best to leave earlier. Also, our new place is a bit far away so had to leave earlier.  Kitkat had been rotting at her parent's home (she hadn't been going out), so she joined us to get out of the house and take some fresh air I guess. She is at her parents home for the Xmas break. She gets like a month off from her university. Its same with Erin. Kitkat's been skipping her work and just yesterday she called me to do her a  huge favour which involed me pretending to be her flatmate and informing her compnay that she won't be able to go to work due to her not feeling well when she was perfectly fine. I guess its the freezing weather. She tells me she buries herself under her duvet. I don't feel like moving around much too. When its cold, you automatically go inactive. reminds me of winter animals hibernating habit. Anyways, she needs a break from her studies too and I am glad she will be working this week. The pics below were taken in Anjuna's room. Her room has a pink wallpaper as you can see lol....... It kinda gives the room a whole girly room effect. lol Her room's small but cozy!!

The last shot was taken inside the tube station. The girls weren't ready........was meant to be a random shot.

Then on the 29th, Me tina Prashant and mom went to the  Blue Water Shopping centre in Dartford and let me tell you that it is the most enormous shopping centre I have ever seen in my entire life. You can go there early yet you will never be able to visit all the shops there. THey got fast food catering services so after a long day of shopping, you can take a rest and eat. They got ice skating rink, SO MANY high street shops etc. AND a HUGE parking lot!! Of course we couldn't get to all the shops there but I am determined to go there next time.

31st Of Dec

Tina and Prashant going crazy. I have nothing to do with this madness whatsoever!

HEHE I know!

Well thats about it. Before I sign out, I would like this opportunity to thank Ricki from the bottom of my heart for sending the Xmas and Bday gifts all the way fron Hong Kong. Her gifts came early just like herself. I mean whenever we had plans back in Hong Kong, she always used to be the first one to arrive.I am actually wearing those earrings as I type and while I may not have plans to read the  book any time soon, I will keep it unsealed till the day it shall be read.

My Bday this year wasn't that special except that I got a grey long coat from New Look for the UK's brutal winter. Of course, I used dad's card to pay so that it became dad's bday gift. hehe And ofcourse, cake was devoured lol Mom's poor. She doesn't work but I was atleast expecting sth from Tina esp when I gave her a bday gift in her bday. People are selfish man! Prashant's Bday is coming up next on the 8 of this month. We'll see how it goes.

I bought this online. A Biker coat lol........what was I thinking when I bought it?!

P.s. Leaving you with Picture of the Day

yes that our room. Its a comfortably big room but it tends to get stonecold and so takes a decade to heat up.

Girls day in at Kirtika's!!!

ON the 4th of This month which was a Monday, I had the girliest day of my life! LOL

It was Kirtika's idea to invite all the Friends from HK like Khuram, Raj, Deepak, Anel, etc  to her home for lunch for a small reunion but me, Tina, Kitkat and Erin were the only ones who showed up which was just fine cuz orginally, we didn't really think of inviting any other.....Kitkat just thought of showing us her home in Egham since she is all alone in that big house. ( all her roomates have gone back to their own home for vacation).

Anyways, Kitkat came to pick us up in the Natinoal railway station, then we helped her with shopping in the supermarket, then straignt to her home where she immediately busied herself cooking us dishes! Me and Erin were the least helpful since we slouched on the sofa and drank coke and ate...... At least Tina ehelped her peef of potato skin...haha ya big deal!

Anyways, after eating and all, Me and kitkat went upstairs toher room cuz i had to transfer something in her laptop. It was then that Kitkat started make-upping me! that was the second time she ruined my natural face. LOL But i do not regret! lol............ Kitkat was energetic enough to put make up on all three of us one after another........ I realised afterwards that we had been doing all those girly girly stuff lol....... but god, kitkat has so many make up kits and cosmetic products!

When me tina and erin went upstairs to Kitkat's room to film her MESSY room, we shared a good laugh! I mean she had tons of used bowls and cups lying there on the floor, things were in disorder, mineral bottles were on the floor and kitkat thought there was nothing wrong with it. I bet when her mom sees her room, her mom will freak out! Anyways, We rummaged through her undergarmets, her dustbin and everything while filming it. hehe....... not gonna put up the videos here.......

We got to her place around 1-ish and left arouond 8.30 ish. she lives kinda faraway. We had to take MTR first then this railway for like 37 minutres and by the time we got home, it was around 10 or mor elike 11pm//////// but oh god we had such fun! hehe

Here are the pics of that dreamy day!

Yes kitkat made all these!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vogue?

Charlie and the Choc Factory?

We on the queue and kitkat had to point out that i was the last one!
